Citavi is a Windows-based software for literature management and knowledge organization. Ruhr-Universität Bochum has purchased a campus license for Citavi. This is a one-year rental license that will be renewed annually until further notice.
Citavi is available to all RUB members free of charge. You can use it on a Mac if you use a so-called virtualization solution, e.g. Parallels or VMware Fusion. In addition, the browser version Citavi Web can be used in a bundle via the campus license.
The Citavi compact course for beginners covers the following topics:
Collecting literature
Use in word processing
Citation styles
Brief introduction: Planning tasks, organizing knowledge
For the course, you can install and license the Citavi software on your PC/laptop in advance so that you can actively follow and practice the work steps. Instructions for installation and licensing can be found here.
This is an optional offer, you can also take the course without the software. Computers are available for use in the classroom course, but we recommend that you bring your own laptop with Citavi.
