The next (123rd) meeting of the Advisory Board of the University Library will take place in the summer semester 2024. An exact date has not yet been set.

Activities

The activities of the Advisory Board of the University Library are based on the Statutes (Administrative and User Regulations) for the University Library of Ruhr University Bochum:

The task of the Advisory Board is to advise the self-governing bodies of the university in the performance of their supervisory function with regard to the university library and to support the director of the university library and the heads of the decentralized libraries in all fundamental library matters.

Members

The Advisory Board consists of 14 members (7 professors, 3 members of academic staff, 2 members of technical and administrative staff and 2 students). Where possible, these members should represent the humanities, natural sciences, engineering and medicine.

The members of the Advisory Board are elected by the Senate of the Ruhr-University separately for each group. Each group can nominate deputies. Their term of office is 2 years, that of the student members 1 year.

The XVII Senate of the Ruhr-Universität elected the newest members of the current Advisory Board at its 1st meeting on October 26, 2023.
