The use of digital methods and resources on humanities research has been increasing steadily over the past years. This holds true for Ruhr-University as well.

The Digital Humanities Center (DHC) integrates, develops and promotes tools and data resources for humanities scholars at Ruhr- University. As a sustainable center for the Digital Humanities on campus, the DHC provides learning opportunities and resources for research projects and grant applications. According to its vision and strategy, the Center both contributes to cutting-edge research at Ruhr-University and connects people interested in the broad field of Digital Humanities and applied research methods. At RUB, there are several initiatives that support digital humanities research and teaching at the university. These include:

DH Space

The DH Space is located in room 0/08 in the University Library. Just follow the blue illuminated sign!
During the semester, the DH Space offers workshops on topics related to the digital humanities. This semester, we are offering two types of courses. The introductory sessions involve a more in-depth exploration (usually 90 minutes to an hour) of individual tools or topics, always including a hands-on part for participants. The crash courses are designed to provide a quick and accessible introduction (no more than one hour) to a specific topic or problem.
