Use of Lockers

The University Library provides cloakroom and day lockers as well as long-term lockers.
The cloakroom and day lockers are available to all users. Long-term lockers can be borrowed by students of RUB, the University of Duisburg-Essen and TU Dortmund University.

Cloakroom and day lockers

  • In the foyer of the University Library and in the basement (level 01) you will find lockers where you can store your outerwear, bags and luggage.

  • Day lockers are located on floor 1 / area 2 and on floor 2 /area 2.

  • You will need a 2-euro coin as a deposit.

  • Overnight use is not possible. Please empty your locker in good time before the library closes. In the morning before the building opens, all lockers still in use will be emptied and their contents secured - please come to the information/service desk to collect your possessions.

Long-term lockers
  • 645 long-term lockers are available to students of RUB, the University of Duisburg-Essen and TU Dortmund University. The lockers can be used to store study material and books (your own and items borrowed from the University Library).

  • Locker keys are handed out and issued to your library account at the information/service desk. By borrowing the locker key, you agree to the terms of use!

  • The locations can be viewed in the digital library guide. Enter the search term "locker".

  • The University Library is not liable for loss of or damage to items stored in the locker.

  • If you have lost your locker key, please contact the staff at the information/service desk on the ground floor immediately.

  • The University Library offers study spaces with integrated lockers for doctoral students. These are only available to RUB students with appropriate proof.
