Scan service of the RUB libraries
The University Library and various departmental libraries offer the scan service for RUB members (not for external users!).
Scan service for print media for scientists, lecturers and PhD students
Are you a scientist / PhD student and need literature for your research? Are you a lecturer and need literature from the participating libraries for your online course or would you like to set up a virtual term reserve collection for your seminar?
- The following libraries offer this service:
University Library, IB Joint Library, IC Joint Library, Hegel Archive Library
- You can log in using your LoginID.
- You can order complete articles from journals.
- According to copyright law, we are allowed to scan a maximum of 15% of the book volume (see UrhG § 60a, Absatz 1).
- We will upload the scans to Sciebo. You will receive a link and can download the literature.

Scan service of the Hegel Archive Library for all RUB members
Do you need literature that is available in the Hegel Archive Library?
- You can place 3 orders per person per week using the form.
- You can log in using your LoginID.
- You can order complete articles from journals.
- In the case of books, the Copyright Act allows us to scan a maximum of 10% of the book (see UrhG § 60e, Absatz 5). Repeated requests for the same book that result in circumvention of the 10% limit are in breach of copyright and will not be considered by us.
- We will upload the scan to Sciebo. You will receive a link and can download the required literature.

Accessible scans for students with visual impairments
If you have difficulty reading conventional scans due to a visual impairment, we can make barrier-free scans for you.
- We produce easy-to-read scans for you with individualized settings such as finger removal, page separation, black and white contrast, book fold settings, etc. You will then receive the PDFs by e-mail.
