From fall 2024, extensive renovation measures will unfortunately have to be carried out in the university library, as asbestos-containing fire cords located in the expansion joints will have to be replaced. In addition, the fire dampers and some window fronts will be replaced. These renovation measures will start in the fall of 2024 and are expected to take at least two years. Temporary restrictions on the use of some rooms and noise pollution are to be expected.
For the upcoming refurbishment, site power distributors for the site power supply must be set up on level 0 from 9 August 2024. From 9 August to 2 September 2024, the area in front of the DH Space/in front of the blue elevators on level 0 must therefore be closed.

• Please use other study areas during the above-mentioned period, as the space available on level E0 will be limited.
• The DH Space (room 0/08) cannot be used during this period.
• The blue elevators will only run between floors 1 to 5 from 12 August 2024 to 2 September 2024. Please also use the yellow elevators located behind the information/service desk. Customers with a larger wheelchair are welcome to use the orange elevators in the entrance area. Please contact the information/service desk (Monday to Wednesday and Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, Thursdays from 8 am to 6 pm, Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm), as they can only be operated by UB staff.
